Hello campers! I'd like to introduce you to The Woods Campground's "My Camping Family" - a time-saving feature of the online reservation system.

This video will teach you how to setup and use this tool to make the campsite reservation process go quicker and smoother.

We developed My Camping Family for you to preset individual's information that will be added to your reservation. This will come in handy when you make online reservations. Otherwise when you add people to your reservation, you have to type in all their contact information which is very time-consuming. The My Camping Family idea came from the way our guest services staff creates a reservation. They have the advantage of simply pulling names from our database to add them to a reservation. This obviously makes the process go quicker ,so we developed the same system for our guests as well.

My Camping Family will let you do the same thing - pull up all your fellow camping friends from our database. But there is a bit of preparation you need to do ahead of time. My Camping Family is already an option with the account you have in our system but before we show you how to find it, let's illustrate the process.

Think about it. There are two sets of people involved with the reservation process... the person who will go online and create the reservations and the additional friends or family members who will be added to the reservation.

Each has a different role when using the My Camping Family tool. So, determine your role and follow along with our example of how My Camping Family works.

This is Jack. Jack is a Woods camper and is always the one in charge of making online reservations for him and his friends. So he needs to register them as his My Camping Family members. These are people who often camp with Jack. When Jack makes online reservations, he has to also add their name and information to the reservation.

Jack sister Jane love spending the holiday weekends with her brother Jack.

And Jack's partner Romeo always camps with Jack.

Now, before Jack can add Jane and Romeo to his camping family, he needs two pieces of information from each of them.

First, the membership ID from their Woods Campground membership card.

If you don't have a membership card, don't worry. You can also provide the email address you have associated with your account in our system.

Next are the passwords that Jane and Romeo set under My Camping Family account.

If you haven't set up a password yet, don't worry. We're going to watch Jane set hers up now. How does she do that? She'll need to log into her account on The Woods Campground's website.

To access My Camping Family, Jane needs to log into her account on our website: www.TheWoods.camp. She looks across the title bar to find "Reservations." She clicks that link and a list of options will show on a drop down list.

The choice she wants is "Login." A page will display asking for the email address she used to create her account in our system or the member ID # that is printed on her membership card.

Remember, once you're issued a card, the card and your membership number never change. You'll also need your password. If you forgot your password, you'll see a link there that will send an email to you. Once Jane populated both boxes she clicks "Login." Since the default screen is for making a reservation, she needs to click "My Account." Now here you'll see Jane's account listing as it appears in our system. You'll see a lot of information, but we're only going to concentrate on the bottom right-hand corner where you'll find the My Camping Family tool. There it is on the bottom right.

This screen is really small so I'm going to magnify this section so we can see what it looks like.

They're really two sections of the My Camping Family tool.

The first section is for Jack - the person who goes online and makes the reservation. We'll watch Jack do his part in a little bit.

But Jane is only concentrated with the bottom section. That section is for those guests who want to give somebody else the ability to quickly and easily add them to a reservation. Let's continue to watch Jane.

Jane picks a word to use as her My Camping Family password. There are no minimum or special character requirements with the password you choose. Jane chooses "Party" and clicks "Save Changes" and she's done! That's it!

This allows anyone who knows Jane's My Camping Family password the ability to add her to a reservation.

For privacy and protection we recommend your My Camping Family password be different than your main Woods Campground account login password.

So now Jane just have to give Jack her password.

Change Send Jack a text message giving him the info to add her to his Camping Family.

Jack needs Jane's My Camping Family password and also her membership ID number from her ID card.

If you don't have a membership ID card, you can also provide the email address from your account in The Woods system.

Romeo does the same thing - logs into his account, finds the My Camping Family tool and creates a My Camping Family password. Romeo also texts Jack his information... even though they're sitting on the couch next to each other.

Okay so now, Jack has all the information he needs to create his Camping Family, so let's watch him set it up.

To log into his account Jack goes to the same place as we did earlier: www.TheWoods.camp. He clicks "Reservations."

He clicks to see the drop down list.

He'll choose login.

And Jack logs in using his email address and password.

Again, the system defaults to a screen where you normally start making reservations. Since that's not what Jack wants to do, he clicks "My Account" and here's Jack's account screen. He just needs to find the My Camping Family tool. Same as before - it's on the bottom right.

You record the screenshot from earlier. Now we'll cover the first section where Jack will add other people's names that will be part of his reservations. As you can see, there's just one tool on the upper section. The green box to add a Camping Family member.

So Jack clicks the green button.

And that will open up a window for him to enter the information Jane and Romeo texted him.

Jane gave Jack her member ID number from her membership card but again, if you don't know this number or if you don't yet have a membership card, you can also provide your email address that's on file with your Woods account.

Jack enters in Jane's ID number and her My Camping Family password "Party." He clicks Add.

And now Jane is listed on Jack's account page as a Camping Family member. You can see Jane listed right here.

Every Camping Family member you add will be listed on your account. They'll all have their own listing. Jack will add Romeo using the same method.

Step 1: Click "Add Camping Family Member." Jack's going to find the text Romeo sent with his member ID and Camping Family password.

Jack enters in Romeo's ID number and his My Camping Family password "Felicia." He clicks "Add.".

And now Romeo is also listed as a member of Jack's Camping Family.

One thing I should point out is this status indicator.

Jane and Romeo's listing have a blue active box which means everything is good to go. If, after you add someone to your Camping Family, the status turns to "Inactive," then something has changed and you won't be able to add them to your reservations using this system.

The main reason this will happen is if the person simply changes their My Camping Family password. Hey, just cuz you're camping buddies now, that may not always be the case and this gives them the ability to prevent you from adding them to your reservations and from seeing their contact information.

Other reasons this may show up with an inactive status is if the membership was deleted by Campground Administration... say if it was a duplicate or if the member was banned and their membership was revoked. So prior to making reservations, just login to verify you have all blue active boxes.

Okay so now Jack wants to make a reservation.

Remember, Jack set up Jane and Romeo as My Camping Family members. Now he can make an online reservation and add them to his reservation with one simple click of his mouse.

We'll join him a few steps in the process. Here Jack chooses site 100 for opening weekend.

Instead of manually typing in Camper 2's name, he has the option of clicking "Add My Camping Family Member." A box appears listing all of Jack's Camping Family members. All he needs to do is click "Choose" next to the name he wants to be added to this position of the reservation.

He clicks Jane's listing.

And as simple as that, Jane is now listed as Camper 2 with all her contact information automatically populated. As you can see, the program only pulls the information it needs to complete the reservation. Credit card information and account password are kept private.

Next, Jack Scrolls down to move on to the next guest position so he can add Romeo.

He indicates there will be one additional camper on the reservation which pops open the Camper 3 fields.

Instead of typing Romeo's information, Jack simply clicks the box to add a Camping Family member.

There's the box listing all of Jack's Camping Family members.

He clicks "Choose" next to Romeo's name to add him to this position of the reservation.

Romeo's information is automatically populated.

And just that quick, the reservation is complete.

The final screen verifies that all names are on the reservation and Jack can now complete and pay for the reservation. It really is that easy. It may seem like there's a lot of steps because I go into such detail, so you may want to watch this video over and create your My Camping Family prior to online reservations going live.
