High class and welcome to week 2.

Which is all about academic writing.

We will jump right into academic writing in the discussion.

And you will perform a scavenger hunt for the assignment.

So let's look at the modules.

This is where you find your learning content. Make sure you complete that early in the week. It will provide you with helpful information about various note taking techniques such as sq3r, the Cornell method, etc., and you will definitely use those methods this week and in the coming weeks.

So, as far as the discussion is concerned, we are discussing the connection between writing and learning.

Make sure you post your main response by Wednesday.

Also make sure you perform outside research for that main response and cite your source to APA guidelines.

Now if you did not see the helpful recording I posted in the week 1 discussion, you can also find that in the week 2 recording [announcement] it's right here This very short recording shows you how to find citations in the Herzing library with just the click of a button. So if you struggle with properly citing your sources or using the library this recording that is only about three and a half minutes long will walk you through that. So I highly recommend viewing that recording.

Let's go back to the unit 2 module.

And once again the main discussion response is due by Wednesday. Your peer replies are due by Sunday, and remember each peer reply also requires that you perform research and cite your sources.

And last but not least, we have the assignment. This is the scavenger hunt.

So with this assignment you will go to the Herzing Library and pick an article that is of interest to you.

Now since we are scholars, make sure it is a current article. Make sure the article is no more than 5 years old.

So since we are in the year 2023, 5 years ago is 2018. So your article should not be older than 2018.

And once you have that article, just go through this chart and complete the right side of the chart for all elements of that article.

And you are posting this chart. You are not writing an essay.

And make sure you use this actual chart. Just copy it and paste it into your document and then fill out the sections on the right side.

This has the grading rubric like all assignments. The rubric shows you how you can earn all points and also shows you how you can lose points.

So hopefully you will stay on this left side and earn all points.
