Exciting News A new, improved experience on Chromebook!
What’s new:
We have been working hard to improve the experience of our Chromebook app, including supporting more devices and increasing stability and performance. We are slowly rolling this out to people using our Chromebook app! Over the next week or so, you will see:
- Improvements in recording! We optimized the experience for Chromebooks that were memory-tapped and may have been hung up on previous app versions.
- Support for Android 11-based Chromebooks!

What’s new:
- Just when you thought Quizzing couldn’t get any better…Now you can exclude short answers from affecting the final quiz score for the person taking the quiz. You can grade these questions separately.
- The easier, the better! Remove multiple pieces of content from a channel in one step. Just select the content and click the remove icon in the bottom of the screen.

- Fixed a scenario where team admins were able to add the same user to the same group (oops!).
- More minor enhancements to improve the overall experience!

- Easier installs on Mac! When launching a new version from the website, we will quit any ScreenPal instance running in the background. Because of your great feedback, we were able to identify improvements! Thank you!

- An issue with switching videos from ‘Published’ to ‘Unpublished.’

- Better communication when the virtual background filter is being downloaded.
- A bug that kept the webcam background blur on when a user chose to mirror their webcam, and then turned background blur off. Thanks for the feedback and bug reporting!

Exciting News Confetti and screen effects!
What’s new:
- Confetti effects for all! You can now launch screen effects when recording from a text box. (We released this previously with our full-screen recording controls!)
What’s improved:
- Better messaging when you haven’t set up hotkeys (or shortcuts) for effects yet.
What’s fixed:
- A bug that affected some users recording their webcam only.
- An issue where the webcam would continue to record after navigating away to other tabs and windows.

- A bug that affected users that couldn’t record their webcam when the virtual background filter didn’t download.
- A bug that affected our new Mac users trying to record their webcam and microphone! The macOS was no longer asking for permission. (Yikes!)
