What’s fixed:
- In this release, we corrected an issue that caused some paid Solo accounts to be treated as free accounts with imposed limits on certain features, such as recording time.
What’s new:
- We added a Restart now button to the Help dialog within the Desktop app. Clicking this button quickly restarts ScreenPal to update it to the latest version.
- We added a Replace button to the Video and Image overlay menus. Clicking this button enables you to quickly select an image or video to replace the current one, maintaining the same size, position, and position on the video timeline as the replaced media.
- We added an option to delete the main image, or screenshot, within an image project. Any overlays that were added to the original image will remain.
What’s fixed:
- We fixed an issue that caused some users audio to mute briefly as they recorded narration within a Story.
- We fixed a bug that caused the Video Editor to close unexpectedly when adding an image overlay to a project.
- In the Script editor, we fixed an issue where the Add Audio menu would disappear as some users attempted to make a selection from it.
What’s new:
- We updated the Due Date control for Google Classroom assignments to use a 12-hour clock, rather than a 24-hour clock, for a better user experience.
What’s fixed:
- We fixed an issue where the Full Screen control on the video player was unavailable for some embeds, including those using our LTI plug-in within Learning Management Systems.
- Previously, when some users attempted to select an LMS Type during setup, an error message was displayed. We have fixed this issue.
What’s new:
- We updated the Heatmaps table on the Content Trends page for a video within ScreenPal Analytics to provide a better user experience. The table now expands to the full width of the page and certain columns have been adjusted to display the full value within them.
- We made improvements to the Subscribe screen within the ScreenPal mobile app so it is easier to view this screen and complete a purchase when using a mobile device.
- We added the ability to control iframe height and width when using ScreenPal oEmbed shortcodes for WordPress.
What’s fixed:
- We fixed an issue where media was not uploading properly in the Online Video Editor.
What’s new:
- We added functionality in this release for ScreenPal and Google Classroom. To connect your Google Classroom to ScreenPal, go to Settings > Integrations > My Integrations. Once this setup is complete, you can click the Share button for any video in ScreenPal Hosting and select Google Classroom. From there, you can share the video as an assignment or course material, ask a question about it, or share it as a video announcement.
- With this update, you can also share ScreenPal quizzes to Google Classroom as assignments. To do this open a quiz, go to the Assignment & Settings tab, and click the LMS option to display the Assign to Google Classroom area. When you share a quiz to your class, student quiz scores are automatically synced to your Google Classroom gradebook.

- We improved the AI narration in our Slides to Video Generator so it is less repetitive.
What’s new:
- In this release, we made some changes to ScreenPal Analytics for a better experience.
- Last Visit has been renamed to Last Played on the Analytics page, to better represent the date shown in this column.
- An arrow is now displayed next to the title of the column you are currently sorting by in the Content Trends table, so you can better determine how the data is currently sorted.
What’s fixed:
- We fixed a bug that prevented some users from being able to convert large slides presentations to videos using the AI Slides to Video Generator.
What’s new:
- In this release, we added a Personal Pronunciation Dictionary. This tool enables those who use ScreenPal AI text-to-speech narration to add the correct pronunciation of specific words, improving the AI narration experience. You can add words to your pronunciation dictionary by going to Settings > Pronunciation Dictionary, or by right-clicking a word in the video Timeline on the Video Settings tab and selecting Add Pronunciation.
- We added functionality to the Online Screen Recorder that allows you to change your webcam orientation, select a virtual background or blur your background, and choose the shape of your webcam overlay. Access these tools by clicking the arrow on the Camera button within the Online Screen Recorder to display the Camera Settings menu. From there, click the Web Cam Settings option.
- You can now select the video size of your recording from the Online Screen Recorder.
What’s new:
- We added a teleprompter to the Desktop Screen Recorder. Clicking the Teleprompter button on the toolbar opens a floating Teleprompter window in which you can enter or paste your script text. When you click the play button on the teleprompter, your script text will scroll at the speed you select, so you can use it to narrate your recording.
- A Tools icon was added to the Desktop Screen Recorder controls. Clicking this icon displays options for the drawing tools and zoom tool, selecting a canvas background, and using the teleprompter as you record.
- You now have the option to add a colored outline to any text overlay you add in the Video Editor.
- The Help dialog was updated to include links to helpful resources and a Request Support form.
- We removed some options from the Upload to ScreenPal menu in the Video Editor. When you upload a video, only the Account, Title, Quality, and Visibility fields are available. You can add a video Description, move the video to a channel, and add a custom link once the video has been uploaded to your hosting account.
- When you upload a video to ScreenPal Hosting from the Desktop Video Editor, the Video Details page for your uploaded video is automatically opened in your browser. Additionally, the watch link for the video is copied to your clipboard. If you would like to turn off this functionality, we also added a Open browser after publishing to ScreenPal option in Preferences that you can select or clear.
- Vertical and horizontal alignment guides are now displayed in the Video Editor when you place an overlay within the canvas. The guides are only displayed when you are dragging the overlay and are near the closest potential alignment point.
- Previously, the Desktop app displayed a profile bubble that was pink with the current user’s initials. The app now displays your profile photo from Hosting, if you have uploaded one.
- We added text to the Import button at the top of the Project Manager so it is easier to recognize.
What’s fixed:
- We fixed a bug that caused some users to be unable to export captions for their video projects.
What’s new:
- We implemented new functionality in ScreenPal Analytics. Now, when you turn on the Show Only Charted option and select specific videos in the list, ScreenPal updates the URL within your browser. This means you can refresh the Analytics page to view the latest data for the selected videos, and you can bookmark the URL for future reference.
- We added the Explore Templates option to the Create menu. Clicking Explore Templates brings you to the ScreenPal Stock Library, where you can view and select video templates to be used with the Online Video Editor and the Desktop Video Editor.
What’s new:
- We’ve made some improvements to the Preferred Time Zone selector in your Settings. ScreenPal will now automatically detect your time zone using your browser if you have not manually selected a time zone. Additionally, when you are manually selecting your preferred time zone, you can search by common name. Time zones are now grouped by region, and include a custom search function that enables you to search for GMT offset.
What’s fixed:
- Previously, selected items in Manage Viewer Actions on the Share Video tab were not correctly applied to oEmbeds. This issue has been fixed.
- We also fixed an issue where the Save button was not enabled when users attempted to create a new folder from their ScreenPal Library.
