What's new with ScreenPal?

What’s fixed:

• Previously, the AI Slides to Video Generator sometimes failed to create a video when users uploaded a PowerPoint file and selected the Speaker Notes option for Script Type. This issue has been fixed.
• We also fixed an issue in which quizzes with a due date could still be accessed and submitted past that due date.

What’s new:

• We removed the Chapter icon from the video player controls. Viewers can now click the Transcript icon () to view the video’s transcript, including chapters.
• We enabled five free uses of our ScreenPal AI Slides to Video Generator for free users, as well as Solo Deluxe and legacy Solo Premier users. After you use your five free trials, you will need to upgrade your ScreenPal subscription to continue using this feature.
• We removed the arrow button from the top right corner of the video player. Viewers can now click the Transcript button on the player controls to view and hide the video’s transcript.
• We changed the functionality of the Auto-sync to gradebook option for quizzes that include short answer questions. You can automatically sync quizzes that include short answer questions by turning on the Do not include short answers in scoring setting. After students take the quiz, they will see a score based only on the automatically graded questions. Short answer responses will be available for the quiz creator to grade manually.

What’s fixed:

• We fixed an issue where some users were unable to delete or edit AI-generated chapters for their videos.

What’s new:

• We added a Customize Player section to My Preferences for members of a Team Plan. If the Administrator of a Team Plan enables team member customization, team users can edit their own Customize Player settings from this area. They can also continue to edit customization and branding for individual videos from the Video Settings tab.
• We moved the Channel Layout selector from the Edit Channel tab to the Share Channel tab for better discovery.

What’s new:

• We added the ability to trim your video in the Online Screen Recorder. Simply click the arrow next to the Publish button and select Trim and Publish.
• When selecting ScreenPal content within a learning management system, users will now see a message if they select a quiz with assignment type set to LMS and do not use a resource link to add it.

What’s fixed:

• We fixed an issue where some users could not edit and save video captions that were generated by ScreenPal AI.

What’s new:

• We added several new features to the Online Screen Recorder:
  • If you have multiple webcams, you can now choose which one you’d like the Online Screen Recorder to use. Simply click the caret (up arrow) on the Camera button and select a camera.
  • We implemented a color selector for the solid color background option on Web Cam Settings. When you click Select Color, the Select Color dialog opens. From here, you can choose a custom color, use the dropper button to select a color, enter an RGB or HEX code, and change the background opacity. Recently used colors are also displayed for you.

• • You can now upload an image, or choose an image from the ScreenPal Stock Library to use as your background. Just click the + icon next to Virtual Background and choose Upload Image or Explore Stock Library.
  • We added the ability to resize and move the webcam overlay on your recording when you capture your screen and camera together.
  • We added more effects that can be used in the Online Screen Recorder. Now, when you click Tools > Effects icon, an Effects selector is displayed.
  • You can now add a background canvas to your recording. Click Tools, click the Canvas icon, and then select one of the backgrounds. You can add text over your canvas background, or remove it by clicking an option for Layout at the bottom of the screen.

What’s new:

• We added an Analytics Dashboard to the ScreenPal Hosting Home page for Solo users. For free users, this area displays the total number of videos currently uploaded to your Hosting account, and the total number of video plays. Solo Deluxe users can also view the Overall Play Rate of their content. Solo Max users can see all of this information, as well as their viewers’ Engagement Rate.

What’s new:

• We improved the Channels area of ScreenPal Hosting, making channel management similar to video management. When you hover over a channel and click Manage, you will see the Channel Details page. ScreenPal content within the selected channel is displayed on the left, and several tabs are displayed on the right. You can use the Edit Channel tab to edit the channel details and layout, the Share Channel tab to copy the channel link or embed code, and the Channel Branding tab to add an image or logo to the channel header, as well as the videos within the channel. Use the controls in the top right of the Channel Details page to change the channel visibility, share the channel, view analytics for the videos within the channel, and more.
