The new Recorder Drawing tools are part of our free screen and webcam recorder! Easily supercharge your recordings and interact with your content using drawing tools!
What’s new:
- Pencil: The revamped pencil allows you to quickly draw on your screen.
- Highlighter: Draw attention to areas of your screen.
- Eraser: Erase some (or all) of your drawings.
- Text: The redesigned text tool gives you rich text customization in a few clicks.
- Shapes: Add arrows, rectangles, circles, hearts, and more.
- Pan & Zoom: Zoom in on areas of your screen for emphasis.

This release focused on fixing some bugs and some improvements!
What’s improved:
- “Recordings” are now called “Video Projects” and “Screenshots” are called “Image Projects.” Projects exist on your computer until you are ready to share them.
What’s fixed:
- A bug that affected some of our Mac users trying to record system audio. You can now install the system audio capture filter and capture!
- Other minor bug fixes.
Exciting News New languages supported and new plans!
What’s New:
- Our content hosting platform is now available in English, Chinese, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Portuguese. We will default to the language selected in your browser. If you would like to change the language manually, you can do so in your settings.
- We’ve added a new business plan, empowering businesses to create and share content with their team. Interested in learning more? Here are the details.
- We’ve aligned our mobile app plans with our desktop plans. You can now purchase Deluxe or Premier plans in the iPhone/iPad and Android Apps. Use one plan across all of your devices!
- An educator discount for educators, administrators, and school/university looking.

- A bug that hid shared content in our LTI app video tab.

This release focused on squashing some bugs!
What’s fixed:
- Clicking to preview a recording would clear filters and search results. We fixed that–it no longer clears that information!
- A bug that affected the video editor Insert Tool (when used at the very end of the video).

Exciting News Serve your content with SSL
What’s New:
- Premier users delivering their content through CNAME will now be able to request an SSL through ScreenPal.
- New emails that help guide people through the SSL process.
What’s fixed:
- An error received by some of our mobile app users that tried to upgrade on the website.
- The password form label disappeared after enabling passwords–whoops!
- Team members can now see videos and images that are shared with them via a channel in their content Quick View.
We have made a number of improvements and provided some better messaging in 8.8.0.
What’s improvement:
- We added a new confirmation screen for Team Admins’ looking to revoking access to a user.
- Reworking the display of search and filtering in our LTI App.
- Some of our messaging in Video Hosting Settings for our Premier users.
- Better feedback for users that try to upload a file that isn’t supported.
What’s fixed:
- A bug that affected some users trying to verify their accounts. (Phew!)
