(Listen to a clip of Teaching in Higher Ed – Episode 199 A Student’s Perspective where they recommend ScreenPal.)
If you’re an educator, don’t miss this weekly podcast Teaching in Higher Ed! It airs every week and focuses on topics such as teaching, educational technology, blended learning and more! Host Bonni Stachowiak is an educator and has provided her listeners ways to improve teaching through technology. Here’s a list of all her helpful podcasts.
Check out her blog and you’ll find useful articles such as, “Getting the Most From Screencasting” and “Ways To Use Screencasting In Your Teaching.”
Stachowiak recommends ScreenPal as her preferred screen recorder and video editor tool. She says, “You pull it up and it’s just super easy to get started and press record. You can toggle back and forth between your webcam so they can see your face or they can see whatever you’re recording whether it’s software your demoing or a PowerPoint slide you’re showing, keynote slide. And then it also has editing capabilities, too, that really put that production value in and allow you to cut the video down, add effects, add titles, I mean it is just really a very full featured application.” Thank you, Bonni!
About the Host: Stachowiak is the Director of Teaching Excellence and Digital Pedagogy at Vanguard University of Southern California. She’s also an Associate Professor of Business and Management and teaches a few times a year in an Educational Leadership doctoral program.
