🦸How ScreenPal Saved the Day in AP Physics
When Phil S., an AP Physics teacher at Maine West High School, faced a tech emergency mid-lesson, ScreenPal came to the rescue. In a heartfelt message, Phil shared how our recording tools helped him recover a crucial 40-minute lesson and keep his students on track—just in time for one of their most challenging topics. Read on for this real-life classroom win and a reminder of the impact dependable tech can make.
Hi ScreenPal Team,
I don’t write a lot (i.e. any) messages like this, but I had to write this one.
I was having a discussion with my students in Advanced Placement Physics with Calculus. I record my lesson every day with ScreenPal and post them for students to use.
Today, we were having an intense discussion of a difficult subject (Gauss’ Law and cylinders, if you must know). We were finishing our last example, and my computer gave me a blue screen of death. The kids were a little frantic; this was a difficult topic, and they depended on reviewing the video later.
I followed the instructions, recovered the 40-minutes video from the Documents folder, and posted it. Crisis averted.
I cannot thank you and your company enough for developing a product that was able to save my (and my students’) bacon. That was some slick software development, and I appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Phil S.

đź’ˇQuick tip: collect and collaborate with student videos
Want a simple, organized way to gather and engage with student video content? ScreenPal’s Channel recorder feature makes it easy to collect student videos for assignments, reflections, or projects—no accounts or editing required.
You can:
🎬 Share a unique submission link with your class
đź“Ą Collect and store videos directly in your content library
🧑‍🏫 Review, organize, and assess student work all in one place
But it doesn’t stop there—ScreenPal also supports collaborative video responses that enrich learning and give every student a voice.
đź’ˇ Flipped Classrooms:
Have students record videos outside of class to explain concepts, reflect on material, or respond to prompts. This encourages critical thinking and allows you to tailor in-class discussions based on student input.
🗣️ Student Reflections:
Create a dedicated channel for student projects and encourage learners to record video reflections about their progress, challenges, and insights gained.
đź’¬ Asynchronous Discussions:
Use video prompts to spark thoughtful discussions. Students can record responses and engage with peers through video comments—building communication skills and creating a more inclusive learning space.
🌍 Language Learning:
Have students submit speaking exercises or oral assessments. You can easily review their pronunciation and fluency, and even provide friendly, personalized video feedback.
With ScreenPal, collecting and collaborating through video has never been easier—or more impactful.
