By popular demand, we’ve brought back our quick share feature to make sharing your recordings even easier!
What’s fixed:
- A bug that occasionally caused opacity to flicker when hovering your mouse over it.
What’s improved:
- We’ve streamlined your workflow by adding a button in the Story editor that takes you directly back to your video projects. No more repeatedly clicking the back button to return to your projects!
What’s fixed:
- We displayed a loading cursor after you clicked to upload to Youtube, Dropbox, Google Drive, or Vimeo even though the menu was already loaded.
- The text “Password Protected” wrapped on two lines and didn’t look good. Fixed!
Exciting News A simplified app experience to make your workflow easier
We’ve been gathering feedback, and we’re excited to launch the streamlined recording and editing experience. For instance, we’ve removed the video preview step so you can go directly from recording to editing, saving, and sharing your videos. It is also easier for you to connect your desktop app to your ScreenPal account.
What’s new:
- We made updates to the recorder menu. After your recording, you can immediately choose to save the video or upload the video to share. You can also jump right into video editing.
- We have made it easier to cancel a recording and close ScreenPal. (Less clicking if you change your mind.)
- The video preview has been removed so you can move between recording and editing seamlessly.
- Sharing and saving options have been added right in the video editor and Stories tool.
- If you are logged in to your ScreenPal account, you will see a link in the project manager that brings you to your hosted content. You will also see your user bubble for fast access to your account information
- We moved the folder location option and simplified it to a folder icon.

What’s fixed:
- A bug that affected sending specific stock content to the video editor.
- A bug that unexpectedly kept users in Preview mode when people recorded narration in a Story.
What’s improved:
- If your Story only includes audio, we no longer open a blank video preview.
What’s fixed:
- An error that occurred when a screenshot didn’t have a title.
- An issue for our multi-monitor friends trying to drag between their screens.
- A copy / paste issue with our Stories tool.
- A bug where “Insert Copy” was inserting the entire video, versus just the copied clip.
What’s fixed:
- A bug that prevented Mac users from capturing computer audio has been resolved. “Failed to download capture filter!” has been fixed.
Exciting News Auto-publish screenshots, screenshots on a timer, & drag and drop to import.
What’s new:
- The ability to auto-publish screenshots to ScreenPal.com content hosting. We’ll copy the link to your clipboard for easy sharing.
- Taking a screenshot on a timer! Perfect for capturing things like right-click menus.
- Drag and drop files to import them into the project manager.
What’s fixed:
- Other small bug fixes and improvements based on feedback.
What’s new:
- A new installer for our new ScreenPals. We also added a new screen while the app is loading and updating.
- Our free Stories users will have an improved experience.

- Fullscreen screenshots will have a better, more helpful name.
Exciting News Updates to our screenshot tool!
What’s new:
- You can export images in a variety of formats, including JPG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, and GIF!
What’s fixed:
- A bug that prevented the file dialogue from appearing when a user inserted an existing project and clicked ‘Browse.’
- An issue where a recording would be deleted if a user unintentionally pressed the ‘esc’ key after inserting it into the editor.
Exciting News Updates to our screenshot tool!
Our screenshot tool has been updated with several helpful features.
What’s new:
- A setting that allows you to manage (and edit) your system screenshots in ScreenPal, automatically.
- You can now add image overlays to your screenshots. This includes adding image assets from our stock library.
What’s improved:
- Screenshots are now captured at actual size.
What’s fixed:
- When pressing ESC in the snipping tool, the screenshot tool closed, versus canceling the snip.
- A bug that affected the transition tool.
